Spontaneous pneumomediastinum COVID-19: Impact of mechanical ventilation

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has spread rapidly around the world and many studies have shown these typical rare atypical findings, such as transient pneumothorax, spontaneous pneumomediastinum (SP), well emphysema subcutaneous during hospitalization. This is case in a 56-year-old woman with COVID-19, who presented hospitalization, of low abundance. As her clinic worsened dyspnea impaired consciousness, she was put on mechanical ventilation intensive care. Faced persistent symptomatology, control thoracic computed tomography (CT) at 15 days assisted found axial slice (Figure 1B) parenchymal window, bilateral diffuse depoli glass areas septal thickening, pneumomediastinum, significant emphysema. Unfortunately our patient died few later.
